Toni Breidinger preps for ARCA debut with Venturini Motorsports

Toni Breidinger, USAC’s all-time winningest female driver, will make her ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards debut in Wisconsin on June 15. The 18-year-old Hillsborough, California native will wheel a Venturini Motorsports Toyota in the Herr’s Potato Chips 200, and then will head south to Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Illinois for the Papa Nicholas 150 on June 22.

Breidinger has scored 14 pavement victories in USAC open-wheel competition. Her GMP appearance is contingent on the ARCA superspeedway approval process.

“I’m definitely excited,” said Breidinger. “I’m a little anxious…this is such a big deal for me. I’ve been waiting a long time for this.”

The ARCA Racing Series cars are completely different from the open wheel cars that Breidinger has raced in the past.

“These cars do not get any more opposite. I tested an ARCA car last year at Motor Mile Speedway in Virginia. There’s going to be a pretty big learning curve, obviously. I’m watching YouTube video and taking advice from my Venturini Motorsports teammates. I’m trying to gather as much knowledge as possible to prepare myself.

“I would be very happy with a solid top-10 finish and bring the car back in one piece. This is how I want to make my living so I’m very serious about the whole thing.”

Breidinger attended the ARCA race at Toledo Speedway in May.

“I was just watching and learning…trying to see how everything goes, how it all works. It’s way different than anything I’m used to.”

Breidinger began her career behind the wheel of a go-kart at the age nine before she graduated to the USAC Midget ranks. In 2014 and 2015 she placed second overall in USAC’s Speed 2 Western U.S. Pavement Midget Series driver standings. She went on to claim the 2016 Speed 2 Western U.S. Pavement Midget Series championship.

“I feel extremely lucky and privileged to be making my series debut racing for Venturini Motorsports. They do an amazing job with developing drivers. The knowledge I will gain from them will be very valuable and beneficial. I am beyond excited to be a part of Venturini Motorsports.”

The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards has not raced at GMP in 11 years. The late Bryan Clauson was the final Gateway ARCA winner, back in 2007.
