April 28, 2017, 2 p.m. CDT, St. Louis Region – Racing events scheduled for this weekend at Gateway Motorsports Park’s Dragplex in Madison, Illinois have been cancelled or postponed. Saturday’s NHRA Jr. Dragster meet has been cancelled, as has Sunday’s Import Face-Off. Saturday’s E.T. Bracket Series race has been postponed.
Sunday, April 30 – Import Face Off: Race has been cancelled. Import Face-Off will return to GMP on Sunday, September 17. For information regarding Import Face-Off please visit: www.ImportFaceOff.net.
Saturday, April 29 – Jr. Dragster Event has been cancelled. Gateway Motorsports Park will announce a possible additional date — or a double race date — at a later time.
Saturday, April 29 – E.T. Bracket Series points event has been adjusted. GMP is adding a post-St. Louis Nostalgia Rendezvous E.T. Bracket Series points event for the night of Saturday, May 13 for the classes of Pro, Super Pro, Sportsman and Super Pro Motorcycle. gates for the E.T. Bracket Series points event will open for non-Nostalgia participants at 3:30 p.m. E.T. Bracket Series racers who wish to come in earlier may do so to watch, however, their crewmembers will be charged the $25 Nostalgia crew pass prior to 3 p.m. The $15-per-crewmember E.T. Bracket Series restricted-area pass will go into effect at 3:30 p.m. when the racer gate changes from Nostalgia to E.T. Bracket Series. Time trial will begin during the cool-down periods between the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the Nostalgia Drag Racing League and Nostalgia Super Stocks for Pro, Super Pro, Sportsman and Super Pro Motorcycle (at approximately 5:30 p.m.). Only one time trial will be run. Eliminations will begin following the completion of the Pre-1979 Nostalgia Bracket Class categories of the St. Louis Nostalgia Rendezvous at approximately 7 p.m. Reserved parking will not be in effect for this event as the Nostalgia event has multiple groups who are being parked together.
A reminder to Gateway E.T. Bracket Series racers: the St. Louis Nostalgia Rendezvous event features two bracket categories for cars 1979-and-older that will feature time trials on Friday evening and a final time trial Saturday morning — with eliminations at noon on Saturday. If you compete in these classes you will only need to purchase your racer tech card for Saturday night’s point races when the racer gate opens on Saturday.
Nostalgia Sportsman Bracket — St. Louis Nostalgia Rendezvous (May 12 and 13) — 1/4-mile. Open only to 1979-and-older full-bodied cars. 9.00 sec. and slower. .5 full tree. No electronics. Transbrakes are permitted. $50 entry fee. $30 first round buy-back. Payout based on 33 or more cars in first round. Entry includes two time runs Friday, one run Saturday and eliminations. Purse: $1,000 to win; $400 for runner-up; $150 for semi; $75 for quarter.
Nostalgia No Box Bracket – St. Louis Nostalgia Rendezvous (May 12 and 13) — 1/8-mile. Open only to 1979-and-older cars, dragsters, roadsters and Altereds. 4.50 and slower. .5 full tree. No electronics. Transbrakes are permitted. $60 entry fee. $40 first round buy-back. Payout based on 33 or more cars in first round. Entry includes two time runs Friday, one time run Saturday and eliminations. Purse: $1,200 to win; $500 for runner-up; $150 for semi; $75 for quarter.
Make-up date for all May 12-13 activities is planned for Sunday, May 14.
All schedules are subject to change at the discretion of facility management and participating sanctioning groups.
No early trailer drop-offs for non-Nostalgia participants will be allowed on Friday, May 12.
