April 13, 2016, St. Louis Region – Not all activity at Gateway Motorsports Park takes place at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour — and not all participants use, or need, tires and engines.

On Saturday, the Metro East Illinois Heart Walk (www.metroeastillinoisheartwalk.org) will launch a busy 2016 season of walks and 5k runs at GMP. The MEIHW is a family-oriented, non-competitive event that offers an opportunity to learn about heart health and is the American Heart Association’s largest fundraising event in the Metro East. For more information, please contact Heart Walk Director Dana Glore at dana.glore@heart.org or (314) 692-5672.

This year, GMP will play host at least one half-dozen of these unique affairs, including:

Bubble Run — April 30. Clad in white t-shirts, participants run, walk, dance and play across three miles of absolute fun. Waves start every 3-5 minutes. At each kilometer, participants will run through the Foam Bogs where there is enough colored foam to cover you from head to toe. Each of the four Foam Bogs along the course are represented by different colors of foam. All levels of runners, walkers, twirlers, dancers and strollers are welcome to the Bubble Run™. Everyone is encouraged to wear white. (That way, their appearance at the finish will be even more pronounced.) For more information, please visit: www.bubblerun.com/upcoming-locations/st-louis-mo/.

Beer Fit — May 21.  For more information: www.runbeerfit.com/event/st-louis.
