The third annual St. Louis Nostalgia Rendezvous will take place on Saturday, May 7, at the Gateway Motorsports Park Dragplex. It’s a nostalgic day of rockabilly bands, a pin-up girl contest, drag racing, a burn-out contest and a traditional custom car and hot rod show (nothing newer than 1972).
The Gears And Gals Magazine pin-up girl contest is open to ladies 18 and older. There will be two separate, judged categories: best period-correct costume and period-correct bathing suit. The highest score from both contests will be crowned the overall Ms. Nostalgia Rendezvous. Overall prizes include: $300 for first place, $200 for second place, $100 for third place, $50 for fourth and $25 for fifth. Additional trophies will be awarded to Best Costume and Best Swimsuit. Contestants may pre-register up until 5 p.m. on May 5 to receive free admission to the show. The contest will be held at the party pavilion stage with two rounds: costume at 2 p.m., swimsuit at 5 p.m. (To pre-register, contact GMP Media & Promotions Manager John Bisci at John Bisci.)
All-nostalgia drag racing includes: Nitro Nostalgia Funny Car exhibition, the Great Lakes Funny Car Association, the Nostalgia Drag Racing League 2016 season-opener, the Victory Nostalgia Super Stocks club, the Nostalgia Gassers Racing Association, Ozark Mountain Super Shifters and bracket racing for 1979-and-older vehicles.
