Gateway Motorsports Park’s AAA Insurance NHRA Nationals slated for September 28-30, 2018

June 8 – The National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) has released its 2018 Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule for 2018. Gateway Motorsports Park’s AAA Insurance NHRA Nationals will take place on the weekend of September 28-30, 2018. The event is part of the six-race Countdown to the Championship and is crucial for all drivers and riders in title contention.

The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series delivers the world’s biggest names in professional drag racing — including 16-time champion John Force and fan-favorite Erica Enders — once each year to the St. Louis region. The NHRA’s premier classes — nitro-burning Top Fuel Dragster and Funny Car — rocket down the track at speeds in excess of 330 miles per hour.

“We are pleased, once again, to host the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series and the AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals,”  said Gateway Motorsports Park’s Executive Vice President and General Manager Chris Blair. “The last weekend of September always provides ideal conditions for our fans to enjoy a great weekend of racing as well as record-shattering runs by the most powerful race cars on the planet.”

Tickets for the 2017 AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals, scheduled for September 29-October 1, are on sale now and may be purchased at the GMP ticket office, online at or by calling (618) 215-8888.
