Gateway MSP will transport honored veterans in bridge-opening parade
What: The opening of the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge celebrates the vital relationship between two states that share a dynamic city, cultural amenities and a rich history. “This bridge project was absolutely essential to our plans to reopen and revitalize Gateway Motorsports Park,” said Curtis Francois, Owner and St. Louis resident. “The investment in this world-class entertainment facility just didn’t make sense without the access this new bridge provides to motorsports fans across the region. We are thrilled to be a part of the opening ceremony parade.” Gateway Motorsports Park will have several vehicles in the parade to transport the dozens of veterans who will be honored at this special event.
The Mississippi River Bridge project was designed to create stronger pathways and connections between Missouri and Illinois. This massive project has been in development since 2001, and includes a landmark bridge structure, the realignment and reconstruction of Interstate 70 and several local roads on both states.
The project will provide needed traffic capacity, improve system linkages and community access, reduce traffic crashes, improve travel times, and enhance economic growth.
